Imagine finding a wallet only to realise it belonged to Thor?

That’s exactly what happened to 17-year-old Tristin Budzyn-Baker when he found Australian actor Chris Hemsworth’s wallet.

The pair appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show to tell how the honest teenager returned the Australian movie star’s wallet.

Hemsworth said he had been dining with his family in a “pretty rough area” when he lost his wallet.

“I left my wallet on the table and thought ‘I’m never going to get it back, I’m never going to see it again’,” Hemsworth said.

The boy scout picked the wallet up and was shocked to learn its owner.

“I was like mum, do you know who this is? We found Thor’s wallet!” Budzyn-Baker said.

“We were speechless. We didn’t know what to do.”

Budzyn-Baker wrote a letter to Hemsworth’s representatives saying he wanted to return the wallet and snuck in a cheeky request from his mother for some tickets for Ellen.

Hemsworth shocked the teenager during the show by giving him the wad of cash that was in his wallet when he lost it with a little extra thrown in.

The thankful star also wrote a letter of recommendation for Budzyn-Baker to help him earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

In a further sign of a good deed not going unrewarded, DeGeneres presented Budzyn-Baker with $US10,000 ($A12,912) to help him go to college.

“You’re an amazing young man and thank you for being so honest,” DeGeneres said.
