Amazon launches Prime service in Australia

(Australian Associated Press)

Australians will now have access to Amazon’s full suite of video and music streaming offerings under its popular Prime service.

Its arrival builds on the Amazon Prime Video on-demand product that has been available since 2016.

But Prime will offer more than streaming services.

It’s a membership program with a monthly fee of $6.99 that also gives subscribers access to some free games, e-books, shopping and delivery deals.

Members will get free delivery on certain products within two-days across most of the country and four-day delivery in remote areas.

Prime is already available in several countries and has 100 million members.
